The course aims to illustrate the size and the main mechanisms of the processes of teaching and learning of reading and writing. They will then present the functions that form the basis of the acquisition of spoken and written language and in-depth knowledge of the concepts and theoretical foundations that justify, in the didactic transposition, the choice of a particular methodology.
Starting from the general discussion of the aspects of the process of teaching and learning of reading and writing and referring to teaching practices and national Guidelines for the curriculum of the kindergarten and the school cycle (2012), the course will propose the 'analysis of the following themes:
- linguistic and cognitive development;
- the development of phonological, lexical, semantic and morphosyntactic;
- the acquisition and learning of spoken language;
- the "linguistic theories" of children: from pictographic writing to alphabetic writing;
- start reading and writing;
- interest and motivation, autonomy and self-assessment in language learning
- the communication context (the class) and pragmatic competence.
Final oral exam.
