This course focuses on attitudes and social behavior. The aim is to provide students with a good understanding of the major theories and research trends on this topic. Specifically, the course will address following themes.
1) Subjective and organizational well being in the workplace.
2) Interactional justice and abusive supervision;
The principles and processes underlying a target’s susceptibility to outside influences will be considered in light of three goals fundamental to rewarding human functioning. Specifically, targets are motivated to form accurate perceptions of reality and react accordingly, to develop and preserve meaningful social relationships, and to maintain a favorable self-concept.
Non mandatory activity for attending students: “Project Work for YOU” which will be presented within the first week.
The non mandatory activity consists in a “Projet work for you ” held by Cattolica Assicurazioni trainers. The effectiveness of the training project will be tracked and measured:
the participation will enable student to acquire soft and hard skills such as :
team building, team working, leadership, intra and inter-group communication and presentation skills.
The participation is not mandatory.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will be able
• to understand social influence and to distinguish between majority and minority processes of influence;
• to understand and recognize informational and normative influence;
• to understand and distinguish among compliance, obedience and conformity;
• to understand how adult attachment styles affect social behavior in dyadic and small group contexts and its perception;
• to understand how explicit vs. implicit norms and variables of individual difference can negatively affect social interaction at work and in domestic context;

For non attending students, the exam will consist of a written examination. Students are required to know the presented theoretical constructs, as well as to interpret interpersonal and organizational behaviour according to the theories and concepts included in the syllabus.
The written examination consists of five questions. Each answer allows students to get form 0/30 up to 6/30 points.
The student’s written work according to the following criteria:
- Language appropriateness
- Answer’s coherence with the posed questions
- Student’s ability to synthesize
- The answer is not redundant
- Use of scientific terminology, appropriate to treated concepts and issues
For attending students the exam will consist of a written examination

2) By attending the non mandatory work (Project Work for You by Cattolica Assicurazioni) students will be able to get up to 4 points.
