Service note
Alessandro Stavru is a Professor of Ancient Philosophy. His areas of interest include Socrates and the Socratics, Pythagoras and Pythagoreanism, Ancient Aesthetics, and the History of Classical Scholarship (esp. Walter F. Otto). He is an officer of the International Society for Socratic Studies and has helped in organizing the Socratica-colloquiums (2005, 2008, 2012). He has a wide teaching experience (in Ancient Philosophy, Modern and Ancient Aesthetics, and History of Religions), which he gathered in Naples, Berlin, Rome and Milan from 2006 to present.

Office Hours

Il ricevimento si svolge sia in presenza, ogni mercoledì dalle 17.00 alle 18.00 presso la stanza 2.06 del II piano del Palazzo di Lettere (Via S. Francesco 22), sia a distanza, in via telematica. Per usufruire di entrambe le modalità di ricevimento è necessario concordare con il docente un appuntamento via email (alessandro.stavru@univr.it).

 

Indicazione per tesisti

Gli studenti triennali e magistrali che intendono svolgere la tesi in filosofia antica sono invitati ad acquisire nozioni elementari di greco antico. A tal fine, il docente consiglia di frequentare il Laboratorio di Greco antico offerto dall'Università di Verona nei mesi autunnali. Curriculum

Alessandro Stavru è Professore associato di Storia della Filosofia Antica. I suoi ambiti di ricerca principali vertono intorno alla figura di Socrate, la letteratura socratica, Pitagora e la tradizione pitagorica, l’estetica antica e la storia degli studi classici (in part. Walter F. Otto).  È membro dell’executive committee della International Society for Socratic Studies e curatore, insieme a Livio Rossetti, della serie di convegni internazionali Socra​tica (2005, 2008, 2012).
